Day 28 – ENEMIES

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven.

We all have enemies.  Sometimes we don’t like to admit this. We want to think that we love everyone and that everyone loves us, but that is highly unlikely.  Sometimes these enemies pop up even in our family circle! Loving our enemies is a tough assignment. But as with all Jesus commands, He’s there to help us accomplish it.  Often the first step in loving enemies is praying for them.  Praying for our enemies discourages us from saying or doing anything nasty to those we dislike.  Another benefit of prayer – it has the power to change our attitudes.

Here’s the challenge: Speak to someone today who you are not real fond of – after you pray for him or her first.  Do it because Jesus says to do it.  Then pray and thank the Lord for the victory! You did it!
